How to cook it

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil for the penne.

  2. Melt the butter with the olive oil in a skillet and cook the onion until soft, about 5 minutes, then add the garlic and red pepper flakes for 1 minute.

  3. Stir in the tomato paste, then the crushed tomatoes, and simmer 12 minutes.
