How to cook it

Press the tofu dry and crumble or dice it into bite-size pieces.

Pound the garlic and chilies into a rough paste and stir the soy sauce, vegetarian stir-fry sauce, and brown sugar together.

Heat the oil in a wok over high heat and fry the tofu until golden and crisp at the edges, about 8 minutes, then push it to one side.

Add the garlic chili paste and green beans and stir-fry for 2 minutes.

Pour in the sauce and toss everything until glossy and coated, about 1 minute.

Turn off the heat, fold in the Thai basil until wilted, and serve over the jasmine rice.
