How to cook it

  1. Brown the ground beef in a pot, breaking it up, about 6 minutes, then drain excess fat.

  2. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder and cook 1 minute.

  3. Add the diced tomatoes and beef broth, bring to a simmer, and cook, stirring occasionally, until thick, about 20 minutes; season with salt.

  4. Divide the corn chips among bowls, or leave them in individual snack bags for a crowd.

  5. Spoon the chili generously over the chips and top with cheddar and diced onion.
