Ingredients

  • 4 bread slices
  • 1 cup, crumbled paneer
  • 1 small, chopped onion
  • 1 small, chopped tomato
  • 1 chopped green chilies
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt

How to cook it

  1. Heat a teaspoon of butter in a pan and saute the chopped onion until soft, about 2 minutes.
  2. Add the tomato, green chili, red chili powder, and salt, and cook for 2 minutes until the tomato softens.
  3. Crumble in the paneer and toss gently for 2 minutes until it warms through and picks up the spices, then stir in the cilantro and chaat masala and take off the heat.
  4. Spread the paneer filling over two bread slices and top each with the remaining slices to close the sandwiches.
  5. Butter the outside of the sandwiches and grill them on a hot tawa or pan, pressing lightly, until both sides are golden and crisp, about 2 minutes per side.
  6. Cut in half and serve hot.
