  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and cook the diced onion until soft, about 4 minutes.

  2. Add the rice and stir until lightly toasted, about 2 minutes.

  3. Pour in the broth and salt, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer until the rice is tender, about 18 minutes.

  4. Fluff with a fork and serve.
