How to cook it

Soak the rice cake slices in cold water for 15 minutes if firm, then drain.

Fry the beaten egg into a thin sheet in a lightly oiled pan, then slice into fine ribbons for garnish.

Simmer the dried anchovies in the water for 10 minutes, then strain and discard them.

Heat the sesame oil and quickly stir-fry the beef, then add the stock, soy sauce, and minced garlic and bring to a boil.

Add the rice cake slices and simmer 6 minutes until they float and turn tender but still chewy.
