  2. Combine the dates, onion, crushed tomatoes, vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and allspice in a small saucepan.

  3. Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened and the dates have softened, about 20 minutes.

  4. Blend until smooth, season with salt, and cool.

  5. Spoon into a jar and serve alongside a fry-up, bacon sandwich, or sausages.
