How to cook it

  1. Heat the oven to 375F.

  2. Cook the diced bacon and onion in a skillet until the onion is soft, about 6 minutes, then cool slightly.

  3. Line a pie dish with one pie crust and scatter over the bacon, onion, and cheddar.

  4. Crack the eggs over the filling, keeping the yolks whole, and season with salt and pepper.

  5. Top with the second crust, sealing and trimming the edges, and brush with the milk.

  6. Bake until the pastry is golden and the eggs are set, about 35 minutes.
